I purchased this to use in lieu of landscape plastic to put down over a weedy community garden bed. We set the paper one strip at a time and then watered it in to keep it from blowing away. Once we had all the paper set (there was a little tearing which we had to re-cover) we put a compost/soil blend mixture on top of it as a dressing and then built raised beds on top of it. My goal was to smother the existing weeds and the paper has done what I needed it to do. I have purchased more to use in other areas. I am really happy with the fact that it will biodegrade, unlike plastic, and can be dug into the soil next year as an amendment.
